As an important gathering point for the maritime industry, Nor-Shipping provides a natural setting to introduce the Club to the maritime community – both here in Norway and internationally.

During our launching event, we are honored to welcome the Director of Nor-Shipping, the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, and the International Propeller Club Headquarters, along with other key contributors from across the maritime community. Together, they will reflect on the value of establishing such a Club in Norway.

The launch will be followed by a press conference and informal networking session – with bubbles and light snacks served.

In addition, prior to our official launch event, we are honored and grateful to be attending a reception hosted by the U.S. Embassy in connection with Nor-Shipping. This event will highlight, among other key topics, the upcoming inauguration of the Propeller Club and the broader value the Club will bring to the maritime community and to further strengthening bilateral relations.

This event promises to be an engaging platform for discussion on the pivotal topic of Maritime transition. Industry leaders and experts will share their valuable insights, exploring the challenges and opportunities within the maritime sector as it navigates towards sustainable practices and innovative solutions.

The chosen theme, “Decarbonising Pre- and Post-Maritime Transport”, will focus on the Mediterranean-Rhône-Alpes corridor as a case study. The transition to sustainable energy is a major challenge for all transport modes. Infrastructure development, such as the upcoming Alpine rail tunnel for modal shift and the Seine-North canal, marks the beginning of a new era in European transport networks.

Lyon and its surrounding region are already playing a growing role in the expansion of low-carbon transport solutions. This is a key axis for modal shift, whether via inland waterways, rail transport, or the adoption of new energy sources for road freight transport.

This convention aims to bring together all professionals from the maritime and logistics sectors. The programme is designed to address the future of the maritime industry and its ecosystem. We recognise the many challenges facing the shipping industry today.
